un ex poliziotto ha ucciso l'ex moglie e la fidanzata minorenne

Washington – An ex-cop killed his ex-wife and underage girlfriend and then took his own life after running away with their youngest son. Elias Huizar, 39, last Monday fired eight shots at his ex-wife, Amber Rodriguez, killing her in front of the primary school where she worked. The crime was witnessed by the couple’s eldest son, a 9-year-old boy, who pointed to his father as the perpetrator.

The police immediately set out in search of the suspect, and officers knocked on the door of Huizar’s house, where they discovered the body of 17-year-old Angelica Santos.

The family members of the 17-year-old, who rushed to the scene, realized that the young girl’s son, Roman, just 1-year-old, was not there. It quickly became clear that Elias Huizar was on the run with the child.

Twenty-four hours after the crime, the police spotted the man inside his car with a gunshot wound to the head. The 39-year-old man was still alive and the child was in the car with him. Transported to the hospital, the former policeman died shortly afterward.

Ex-cop commits suicide: affair with child and rape charges

The ex-wife had applied for a restraining order against her husband. The court documents also state that Elias Huizar had met Angelica Santos when she was 11 years old and he worked as a school resource officer at Yakima Middle School. At 15, the girl became pregnant by the man.

Huizar left the police force in 2021 after a disciplinary measure. In February, the 39-year-old was arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl, a friend of Angelica Santos. The violence allegedly took place after a night spent drinking alcohol.

On the day of the double murder, the former policeman was due to appear in court for the charge of rape and his relationship with the underage mother of his son. A few days before the crime, moreover, his ex-wife, Amber Rodriguez, had applied to the court to change the custody arrangements for their children, aged 5 and 9. In justifying the request, the woman had told the authorities that she feared for the safety of the children.
